Daddy has taken leave from today till next Tuesday so that we can spend time together with Clare before school starts for me the following week. We have a list of activities lined up which include going to the beach for cycling, a visit to the zoo and a day at Sentosa where we can bring Clare to the Underwater World.
I woke up feeling excited this morning as we were supposed to go to the beach today. When Clare woke up and I gave her a routine morning hug, I felt her body was a little warmer than usual. We took her temperature for her and she was indeed having a slight fever.
We suspect that it could be due to teething as only her forehead, palms and soles were warm, the rest of her body were okay. We fed her paracetamol and her temperature hovered around 37.3 to 38.1 degree celsius in the morning.
Late afternoon, we measured her temperature again and was shocked to see the reading at more than 39 degree celsius. We tried to feed her another dose of Paracetamol but she vomited before swallowing any down. After talking to her Godmother, we decided to bring her to Mt A 24 Hour Clinic to see a doctor.
Clare wailed when the doctor was trying to examine her and was cranky after that. Doctor said she had a viral infection and will take at least a few days to recover. =(
We also suspected that she was having gum pain due to teething. She was very cranky at night and could not fall asleep after almost an hour of nursing. We resorted to bringing her out for a car ride. In the car, I noticed that she kept biting her finger. I stuck my finger into her mouth and started massaging her gums. She stopped fussing and fell asleep finally.
Thank God! =) (and we looked at the time, it is about the time prayers are being offered at prayer meet. Thanks for all your prayers offered, MPCians!)
